The NC Quick Pass app allows you to easily manage an account including, ordering a new transponder or adding a new vehicle. The app can also be used to set HOV status to travel free in the I-77 Express Lanes if the HOV requirements are met. Customers without an account now have the option to pay their Bill by Mail invoice with the app. Everything NC Quick Pass in one place! 

The NC Quick Pass app is available for download on the Apple App Store and through Google Play. 

Here’s how to install the NC Quick Pass app on your device: 

  • If you have an iOS device, visit the Apple App Store. If you have an Android device, visit the Google Play store. 
  • You can also search for NC Quick Pass in the Apple App Store or through Google Play. 
  • Once you find the NC Quick Pass app, select either Get or Install to download and install the app on your device.

 If you are still having trouble locating NC Quick Pass in the app stores, we recommend making sure your device meets our minimum system requirements.

If your device doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, you will not be able to use the NC Quick Pass app or troubleshoot it properly. You will need to upgrade your device to install the NC Quick Pass app.

You can check to see if you have the latest version, here’s how: 

iPhone and iPad (iOS) 
  • Open the Apple App Store
  • Tap your Profile image 
  • Tap on NC Quick Pass app  
  • Tap UPDATE. 

If the NC Quick Pass app isn’t listed here, your app is on the latest version.  

Make sure you have automatic updates set up on your device. Here’s how: 

  • Go to your device’s Settings menu 
  • Tap on App Store 
  • Tap the toggle switch to enable notifications 
Android 
  • Open the Google Play Store 
  • Search for NC Quick Pass using the search bar 
  • Tap UPDATE 

If the NC Quick Pass app isn’t listed here, your app is on the latest version. 

By default, the Google Play store will notify when the app is being updated. 

Make sure you have automatic updates set up. Here’s how: 

  • Open the Google Play Store 
  • Search for NC Quick Pass using the search bar 
  • Tap the three vertical dots in the top right. 
  • Check Auto-update 

The NC Quick Pass HOV app will be retired and unavailable for use starting August 1. If you plan your travel far in advance, please reschedule those trips using the NC Quick Pass app. 

No. On August 1, you will no longer be able to set your HOV status with the old app. You can set HOV status with the NC Quick Pass app and much more! 

Yes, the HOV requirements are the same and have not changed. 

Yes. You will be able to you access HOV travel history. Here’s how: 

  • After you login to your account on the NC Quick Pass app, select the Set HOV Status button 
  • Select the Ok button if you agree 
  • On the HOV Dashboard, select the View History button 

You can set HOV status two ways. Here’s how: 

NC Quick Pass Flex 
  • Set HOV status with the NC Quick Pass Flex, costs $16.49  
  • Works in 19 states 
  • Set HOV status immediately 
  • Need to have three of more people in the car. 
  • Setting HOV status 
    • Slide the transponder’s switch all the way to the right to display “HOV ON” before entering the express lanes. 
    • The transponder will beep once to confirm the status is set. 
NC Quick Pass App  
  • Set HOV status with the free, NC Quick Pass app available on the Apple App Store and through Google Play
  • Works with all NC Quick Pass transponders 
  • Need to set HOV status 15 minutes before travel 
  • Need to have three of more people in the car 
  • Setting HOV status  
    • Any NC Quick Pass transponder must be installed in the car 
    • Schedule your HOV trip 15 minutes before travel 
      • After you login to your account, select the Set HOV Status button 
      • Select the Ok button if you agree 
      • On the HOV Dashboard, select the Set HOV button for the vehicle you would like to travel in 
      • Select the Continue button if you agree  
      • Select the timeframe you would like to set HOV status 
      • Select the Activate HOV button
