How to Set Your HOV Status
Follow our step-by-step guide to set your HOV status before driving in the I-77 Express Lanes.
Step 1
If not already done, sign up for a NC Quick Pass account.
Step 2
Make sure you’ll have 3 or more people in your vehicle.
Step 3
Switch your Flex Transponder to set HOV status before entering the express lanes.
Step 4
Success! That’s all you have to do. Start riding for free!

If you don’t have a Flex transponder, download the NC Quick Pass app and login to your account.
Step 2
Make sure you’ll have 3 or more people in your vehicle.
Step 3
Select the “Set HOV Status” button in the app 15 minutes in advance of driving on the road to schedule your trip.
