Using an NC Quick Pass transponder is the fastest, easiest way to pay for tolls in North Carolina and other states that accept SunPass, Peach Pass and E-ZPass transponders.

Whether you are an individual or business looking to save time and money by using toll roads in North Carolina or other states, NC Quick Pass offers a range of transponders to fit all of your needs.

Plus, save up to 35 percent on North Carolina toll rates and enjoy discounted rates in some other states (for rates charged to NC Quick Pass customers on other toll facilities, please contact the respective toll agency).

An NC Quick Pass transponder is required for customers that want to travel toll-free in the I-77 Express Lanes when the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV3+) requirement has been met. All NC Quick Pass transponders may be used to set HOV3+ status with the HOV mobile app/website coming soon.

Getting Started

Get a transponder by signing up online, visiting an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center or calling 877-7MY-PASS (877-769-7277).

After opening an account and depositing the required prepaid balance, you will receive everything you need to start using your NC Quick Pass transponder, including account information, installation instructions and terms and conditions. Note: the NC Quick Pass HOV account does not require a prepaid balance.

Before Buying a Transponder

If you have a motorcycle or one of these vehicles, you cannot use a standard, interior transponder because their windshields have material in them that interfere with the operation of the transponder.

Instead, you will need an exterior-mount transponder that you easily attach to your vehicle's front bumper or head lamp.

To sign up for an exterior-mount transponder, you must visit an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center or call 877-7MY-PASS (877-769-7277).

Switching from Bill by Mail to a Transponder Account

If you’ve ever received an invoice through the mail, you must first convert your Bill by Mail account to a transponder account.
