NC Quick Pass Transponders

    • How do I mount my NC Quick Pass transponder?

Your NC Quick Pass transponder must be mounted properly on your vehicle for it to be read accurately in a toll zone.

When you receive your transponder, you will also receive instructions about how and where to install it on your vehicle. Please follow those directions carefully to ensure its proper operation.

If your transponder is not installed correctly and is not detected on the roadside, you might receive a toll bill in the mail at the higher rate instead of the discounted rate.

Certain vehicles have specialty windshields that will not work with the standard NC Quick Pass sticker transponder. Instead, you must purchase an exterior transponder that mounts on the exterior of your vehicle, either on the front bumper near the license plate mounting bracket or on the vehicle’s headlamp.

    • What should I do if my transponder is lost or stolen?

You should notify NC Quick Pass immediately if your transponder is lost or stolen by:

      • Logging into your account and sending a message
      • Calling the NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center at 877-7MY-PASS (877-769-7277)
      • Visiting an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center
      • Notifying NC Quick Pass by mail

NC Quick Pass will immediately deactivate your transponder but you will be liable for all toll transactions prior to notification.

To replace a lost or stolen sticker transponder, you must request a new one. To replace a lost or stolen NC Quick Pass E-ZPass or NC Quick Pass E-ZPass Flex, you must purchase a new one.

    • What should I do if my transponder is malfunctioning?

If your transponder malfunctions during the two-year warranty period, you may return it to an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center for a replacement at no charge, if there are no signs of mishandling or damage.

If your NC Quick Pass E-ZPass or NC Quick Pass E-ZPass Flex transponder malfunctions after the warranty period expires, you must purchase a new one.

If your NC Quick Pass sticker transponders is defective, malfunctioning or damaged after the warranty period, you will need to request a free replacement.

Customers with a sticker transponder mounted to their windshield should drive to an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center to have it tested while it is still on the windshield. Removing the sticker transponder will damage it.

    • What should I do if my transponder is damaged?

If your NC Quick Pass sticker transponder is damaged, you must request a replacement sticker.

If your NC Quick Pass E-ZPass or NC Quick Pass E-ZPass Flex is damaged, you must purchase a new one. A damaged transponder is not covered under the NC Quick Pass warranty. Damage is defined as tampering, abuse, improper use, defacement or accidental destruction.
