Personal/Business Account Maintenance

    • How do I add funds to my personal or business account?

When you sign up with NC Quick Pass, you can either link your account to a credit or debit card and have your personal or business account funds replenished automatically. Or you can manually pay and replenish your account.

      Automatic Payments

You can add up to three credit or debit cards to your account by logging into your online account or by calling the NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center.

Your credit or debit card is charged automatically when your account drops to a threshold amount. The amount varies, depending on whether the account is personal or business and, if a business account, the number of transponders associated with it.

NC Quick Pass evaluates the toll usage on the account after the first 30 days from the account opening date and adjusts the replenishment level. After the initial 30 days, NC Quick Pass automatically adjusts the threshold amount quarterly, based on average monthly toll usage. There is no fee for this secure and convenient service.

It is important to keep your credit or debit card information current so that sufficient funds are available to replenish your account.

      Manual Payments

Manual payments require you to monitor your account to be sure sufficient funds are always available. You will be notified when the account balance reaches the threshold amount. You are responsible for replenishing your balance prior to the account reaching a zero balance.

If your account balance reaches -$10, you will be notified and your account suspended. (Additional toll charges will be invoiced and mailed through the Bill by Mail program.) To reinstate your NC Quick Pass account, you must pay all toll charges, processing fees and civil penalties (if applicable) and replenish your account.

You can make payments online, by calling 877-7MY-PASS, by mail or in person at an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center.

    • What if my NC Quick Pass account runs out of money?

If your account reaches a negative balance of $10, you will be notified and your account suspended. (Additional toll charges will be invoiced and mailed through the Bill by Mail program.) To reinstate your NC Quick Pass account, you must pay all toll charges, processing fees and civil penalties (if applicable) and replenish your account.

You can replenish your account by logging into your account, using the NC Quick Pass automated phone system, by mailing a check or money order or visiting an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center.

    • How do I update the information on my NC Quick Pass account?

You can update your account contact information by logging into your account under the “Manage My Account” tab. Once logged in, click “Account Profile” from the Main Menu on the left side navigation bar. To update your mailing address or phone number, click “Edit” on the right side under Account Holder Information. To update your email address, statement delivery option or challenge question, click “Edit,” located next to your email address on the right side under Account Settings. To update your password, click “Edit” next to your current password on the right side.

To update your payment information, click “Update Payment Info” from the Main Menu on the left side navigation bar. You can edit your primary card on file or add a secondary card to your account.

    • How do I add a vehicle to my account?

You can add other vehicles by logging into your account, calling 877-7MY-PASS (877-769-7277) or visiting an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center.

Because each vehicle registered to your account must have its own transponder, you will need to purchase a transponder for each additional vehicle you add. Personal accounts are limited to a maximum of five vehicles while business accounts can register an unlimited number of vehicles.

If you receive an error message while trying to add a vehicle to your account, it might be because the vehicle has previously traveled on a N.C. toll road and is associated with the Bill by Mail program.

To add a vehicle that has previously traveled on a North Carolina toll road, you will need to call or visit a Customer Service Center and have a customer service representative assist you.
